Want to get more people talking about your business? A great way to generate hype around your business is to create something new, unique and packed with energy.
Here are a few tips on how to create a buzzing word-of-mouth campaign to promote your business.
Think, act, do something different Get creative. Think outside the box.
What can you do that is different and has real energy? A fun video that can be easily shared to promote your brand or new products (the content in the video has to be unique). A secret invitation only launch. A competition giveaway for your customers that is based on a cryptic quiz or code. Send out one clue per day for a week .The first person to crack the code or complete the quiz wins the prize.
Why should others get excited?
Put yourself in your customer or client’s shoes. Why should they care about what you are doing or offering? What’s in it for them?
- Create a “coming soon” webpage
Early promotion on your website and social media is a great way to let the energy build.
Show a little leg, tease and tempt.
Reveal a little bit about what you are doing. But not too early as you will lose momentum.
Create compelling content.
If you want people to buy into it, ensure the content is creative and compelling.
Talk, talk, talk about it
Verbal communication is the most effective so tell people about it. You have to be genuinely excited. Act like an energy conductor. Start the campaign and help it to build.
Keep it short
Our attention spans are diminishing and we are all time poor so ensure whatever you write or produce is short and sharp.
Ensure the information can be easily shared
Ask people to share via social media, email and online. Include your contact details on all materials, so you can be easily contacted.
- Use the campaign to build new business relationships online and offline. Promote it to influential bloggers and other websites.
Ride the momentum wave
Keep the buzz going by engaging with your community. Be accessible and follow up with people. The most successful word-of-mouth campaigns are clever, unique and fun. Have fun and others will too.
